The Nipper Double V5 is refreshed and upgraded version of this fantastic award-winning all-terrain 3-wheel double buggy from Out n About. After a week of putting this double buggy through its paces, the chassis, wheels and foam handle still looked to be in good condition – no real scratches (other than the black footplate) or bumps were visible. This is a side by side pushchair built with independently reclining seats and individual seat hoods making it perfect for twins, or two children of different ages or sizes. A word about those air-filled tyres, though: unlike solid wheel models, they’re more susceptible to puncture. Overall, it’s a quality piece of kit that should suit country mice and city dwellers alike, and a worthy winner of our Best Double Buggy 2019 award. The five-point harness for each seat is easy to use and secure once in position, though our tester did catch her own fingers a couple of times. It was also cheaper, plus the bit at the front is almost like an extra seat which my son sits in when tired! This is likely to be more of an issue off-road, but Mumsnetters recommend using bike tyre sealant (‘slime’), for added peace of mind. To clip car seats into duet you have to unzip everything else, just seems like a faff and I'm sure lifting babies out of car seat and into pram will be no issue.

It has since been used daily by the tester and only the wheels have experienced a little wear and tear. The reclining mechanism uses a clip and straps that feel secure, even with a larger toddler weighing down the seat. The newborn carrycot/parent facing seat is narrow so if you have a higher centile baby I don't see them lasting in it very long so would probably just go with the world facing seat. A detachable hinged and padded bumper bar sits across both seats, and each seat has a 5-point-harness which is reassuring, especially if you’re using the buggy from birth. Unsurprisingly, for a pushchair that performs well off-road, this Out n About double buggy has been designed to clean up nicely. The fold and unfold can be managed with one hand at a push, holding a baby in the other – gold dust for any new parent of two – and there’s no need to unclip the seats to do so.

This is a side by side stroller built to tackle any terrain, both on or off road with complete ease. I love seeing people's faces when I come up to doors and they say that'll never fit and hey presto it does! I can assure you that the nipper is one of if not the narrowest on the market it fits through all single doorways.All Out 'n' About buggies come with the additional security of an extended 2 year warranty to give you full peace of mind. I liked that I could put it back to single mode really easily and leave the toddler seat at nursery. Many people prefer to put small babies in parent-facing seats, of course, and the Nipper doesn’t have this option.
