See our recommendations for the best 1440p 144Hz monitors, the best gaming monitors, and the best LG monitors. However, it's not a good choice for dark rooms because it has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks appear closer to gray. Added tests for Console Compatibility and macOS compatibility and made minor changes to other tests, which you can see in our Changelog.

In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. Also, although experts were happy that this monitor has HDR tech, they were disappointed by its relatively low 325-nit HDR peak brightness and lack of a local dimming function. However, the LG has better out-of-the-box accuracy and colors don't look as over-saturated as the MSI, so you may not need to get it calibrated to enjoy it to the fullest. ICC profiles aren't the best because of panel variations but I like to use them as a baseline since I no longer have access to a colorimeter. The 27GN850-B has a higher 1440p resolution, but it has a lower refresh rate of 144Hz compared to the 27GN750's 240Hz, which also has a lower 1080p resolution.

In spite of paying attention and showing great sensitivity when providing the information, we can not guarantee 100% accuracy. This monitor has native Adaptive Sync support, meaning it supports both FreeSync and is G-SYNC compatible as well. This subreddit is for News, Reviews, or high quality discussions related to Monitors and Display Technologies. You can rotate the screen into portrait mode, but since you can only do it in the clockwise direction, the inputs are always on top. However, that comes at the cost of a low contrast ratio, and without local dimming, blacks appear gray when viewed in the dark.

Uniformity seems a bit better on the GL83A on both white and grey backgrounds but this could be down to panel variance. No issues with input lag, latency, or motion blur and both monitors feel no different than the Dell (which is a good thing, that monitor was excellent in those regards). The 144Hz refresh rate monitor combined with a 1ms response rate offers smoother, clearer action while reducing blur and ghosting.

Using a fixed 144Hz signal results in screen flickering to the point where it's unusable, so it's better to enable VRR, which you can use up to 120Hz. The percentage of the approximate area, taken by the active part of the screen, to the total front area.
