Pineda, Rafael Antonio (December 9, 2020). " Chainsaw Man, Onna no Sono no Hoshi Manga Top Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2021 Lists". Anime News Network. Archived from the original on December 10, 2020 . Retrieved February 11, 2021. As simple as it is, I have to say that it cut deep and really connected with me, as any touching in art, and the creative process, tend to do. Fujimoto really went out on this one (well it is a one-shot after all). I feel like I don't even need to explain. The shades fits so well with the aesthetic and I absolutely love it. 10/10 without a doubt.

The story is an emotional journey. It kinda leaves you heartbroken and satisfied at the same time, as with Fujimoto's other works. Jump J-Books (in Japanese). Shueisha. Retrieved June 24, 2020. Lady Looks Like a Dude: Fujino and Kyomoto both dress and look very androgynous when they're young (their grade school apparently doesn't have uniforms). One could easily assume either was male until they're shown in female clothing, which for Kyomoto takes nearly half the oneshot's length. Fujimoto's art is stunning, especially during the quiet scenes where the characters simply exist as themselves. Some of the best examples of this are from when Fujino and Kyomoto are drawing together. This kind of silent companionship can be a difficult thing to convey but, in not relying too heavily on speech, Fujimoto's art speaks loud and clearly. The reader finds themselves also simply existing alongside the characters in these moments.

First of all, many already love him, so most don't talk about it, but Fujimoto's style is pretty scribbly. I love it because of that, but I can see it totally affecting his own self-esteem as an artist when he was young. And so he writes Fujino, the main character of the story. While her friends love her manga because it's clever and fun, she gets discouraged when another Pineda, Rafael Antonio (June 25, 2021). "Shonen Jump+ Gets Reality Show to Find 'Next Star Manga Creator' ". Anime News Network. Archived from the original on June 25, 2021 . Retrieved June 25, 2021. unlike most of his works this one took place in the real world ,where no super powers or mythical stuff exist. regret is as human an emotion as can be. it exists because humans can think. thinking about what happened in the past and reflecting on it is one of the most human things possible. and regret is the negative part of this reflective process. it often leads to questioning ones life up until this point. What can I say without spoiling the whole thing? It's beautiful. Fujimoto's done it again. There are some fun little Chainsaw Man references within the story, too.

[6] [7] always is amazing from fujimoto as he draws amazing parallels from the beggining to the final act of the story and does masterfully represent the characters expressions. Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The classmate that said that Fujino's art was amateurish compared to Kyomoto's, inciting a series of events that leads Fujino to an unfulfilling life as a mangaka and Kyomoto indirectly to her death.
