A day out at the National Trust’s Charlecote Park near Stratford proved an interesting experience. The park is lovely with deer and beautifully designed parkland by the legend that is Capability Brown. The gardens were colourful and even though we didn’t venture into the house, the exterior is splendid. However, we were badly let down by the restaurant. Spending over £7 for a microwave lunch is all well and good but the fact it didn’t taste very good is a bitter pill. The Trust have received an email with my comments!! The ice cream we had later made up for it a little bit but I do wish we had a bit of warmth from the sun to enjoy it more! The property is definitely worth a visit, even more so when the sun shines. Also the attached plant centre is worth a look with an excellent variety of plants albeit a touch expensive.
